January to bring trips for Lakeland Seniors

    The Lakeland Senior Citizens Club will meet for the first time in 2014 on Tuesday, Jan. 7, and then again on Jan. 21, at Camp Jefferson on Weldon Road in Lake Hopatcong.

    Most meetings are attended by 60 to 80 members, both men and women. Meetings begin at 1 p.m. There will be bingo before the meeting and free refreshments and socializing after the meeting.

    Any resident of Jefferson Township, 55 or older is welcome to join. Residents are invited to attend one meeting as a guest to decide if he/she wants to join.

    If coming as a guest, introduce yourself to one of the officers. Dues are $20 a year and are renewed in January.

    Bus Trip
    The Lakeland Senior Citizens Club is planning a bus trip to Mt. Airy Casino on Monday, Jan. 13 and Feb. 10. The bus will leave from Camp Jefferson on Weldon Road in Lake Hopatcong at 9 a.m. and returns by 4:30 p.m. The cost is $25 per person. All are welcome.     Cruise to Bermuda
    The Lakeland Seniors Citizens are planning a seven-day cruise to Bermuda from May 4 through 11 on the newest Norwegian Cruise Line ship, “The Breakaway”.

    Washington, DC
    The Lakeland Seniors Citizens are planning a three-day, two-night trip with White Star Tours to Washington, DC, from Sept. 19 to 21. This trip is open to all and includes visits to the Smithsonian, Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, the Air & Space Museum and more.
