SUSSEX BOROUGH — Councilman Bruce LaBar resigned from the Sussex Borough Council on Wednesday morning, the day after the 2015 reorganization meeting.

LaBar stepped down between 11 and 11:30 a.m. with a one-sentenced letter to Borough Clerk Mark Zschack.

LaBar also resigned from the 2015 Sussex Shade Tree Commission, of which he is the chairman.

LaBar served Sussex Borough councilman for seven years.

Mayor Jonathan Rose said borough officials are looking into the process of picking someone for the remainder of LaBar’s 2015 seat.

LaBar still had two years on his term remaining. Now, three seats will be available in the 2015 primary and voted for in November 2015. Councilwomen Linda Masson’s and Annette Stendor’s seats will be for three year terms.
