Mountain Creek offers prelude to Super Bowl

The main dining area at the Red Tail Lodge was very busy last Sunday during the prelude to the Super Bowl.

Owen Pullis, 18, is shown making the winning kick that won a 120 to 125-person pig roast to benefit the Vernon PAL. The prize was courtesy of Smokiní Steveís BBQ and the Yetter's Diner of Montague.

VERNON — As a prelude to the Super Bowl Mountain Creek offered "Snow Bowl 2014" this past Saturday and Sunday.
On Sunday, although there were no grand prize-winners, the ski area offered a $10,000 Mountain Creek field goal kick competition. Along with the 35-yard field goal attempts, local Vernon youth groups had a chance to win a fundraising dinner for their organizations. Owen Pullis, 18, made the winning kick that won a 120 to 125-person pig roast to benefit the Vernon PAL. The prize was courtesy of Smokin' Steve's BBQ and the Yetter's Diner of Montague.
