Elaine Sandberg, toy drive chairwoman for the Vernon office of Prudential Gross & Jansen Highlands Realty Offices dropped hundreds of toys donated by local residents.

“The stories behind the contributions were truly heartwarming, and the results were so much better than we had hoped for, we can’t wait to get started planning for 2014” company President Kevin Colman said.

One family of three young boys noticed the signs one afternoon and were planning

a shopping trip with their uncle. They brought all the money collected within their banks and purchased shopping bags full of toys, which included not only toys for boys, but a very nice assortment of Barbie’s for girls.

Another young mother had a small infant in her carrier seat, and made numerous trips in the cold weather to drop off toys. There were so many wonderful stories, too many to mention. Toys were donated to local families and

were sure to make some neighborhood children happy this Christmas.
