Students create African tribal masks

VERNON — Following a presentation on traditional African masks, 6th graders in Lounsberry Hollow Middle School created their own tribal masks. Students focused on materials, facial characteristics and possible uses, during the construction. On display in the board of education building, for the month of October, are masks built by William Burwell, Jason Cappola, JT Doyle, Edwin Gonzales, Evelyn Jativa, Kristen Laga, Christopher McCann, Luca Ondris, Travis Schneider, Emily Talt, Jaime Vitale, Cherish Wilgus, Haley Beauparlant, Chandler Blaine, Kaitlyn Burke, Derec Falkowski, George Gutierrez, Pamela Hackett, Emilee Hamler, Jaclyn Lehman, Sarah Penino, Suhayl Sadek, Melissa Wilson, Mark Bosma, Ryan Coulther, Aleksandra Dombrowski, Sean Gleason, Andrew Lisa, Kimberly Macias, Eric Montanaro, Tiffany Talt and Marley Terwilliger.
