    May 29
    Rose Serrano, 51, of Newton, pled guilty to the third degree crime of possession of a controlled dangerous substance. Sentencing is presently anticipated for July 19, 2013.

    She admitted to possessing two bags of heroin on March 6, 2013 in the Town of Newton. The matter was investigated by Newton Det. Joseph Dannibale. She also admitted to possessing two bags of heroin on April 1, 2012 in the Town of Newton. That matter was investigated by Newton Police Officer John Flanagan.

    Michele Luchi, 27, of Newton, pled guilty to two counts of second degree distribution of a controlled dangerous substance within 500 feet of a public building. Sentencing is presently anticipated for July 19, 2013.

    She admitted to selling four bags of heroin on each of two occasions to an individual cooperating with the Sussex County Gangs, Guns and Narcotics Task Force. The distributions occurred within 500 feet of the Newton Fire Museum.

    Joelle Miley (also known as Overbay), 19, of Hamburg, pled guilty to two counts of third degree distribution of a controlled dangerous substance. Sentencing is presently anticipated for June 25, 2013.

    She admitted to distributing approximately 70 oxycodone pills in Hardyston around the time period of October 11, 2011. That matter was investigated by Hardyston Police Officer M. Masters. She also admitted to distributing 10 bags of heroin to an individual cooperating with the Sussex County Gangs, Guns and Narcotics Task Force on February 5, 2013.

    Cathleen Gonzales, 46, of Oakhurst, pled guilty to the third degree crime of possession of a controlled dangerous substance. Sentencing is presently anticipated for July 16, 2013.

    She admitted to possessing a crack pipe with crack in it on March 26, 2012. The matter was investigated by Sparta Police Officer P. Hassloch.

    May 30
    Richardo Gonzalez, 29, of Newton, was sentenced to 268 days to be served in the Keogh Dwyer Correctional Facility and must pay various fines and penalties.

    Gonzalez admitted that on September 24, 2012, he stole a cell phone from a pedestrian in the Town of Newton.

    Demetrio Angeles-Monter, 26, was sentenced to 268 days to be served in the Keogh Dwyer Correctional Facility and must pay various fines and penalties.

    Angeles-Monter admitted that on September 4, 2012, in the Town of Newton he received movable property belonging to another.

    David Betz, 35, of Glen Spey, New York, was sentenced to three years’ state prison, and must pay various fines and penalties.

    Betz admitted that on October 22, 2007, in the Township of Frankford he entered a residence and stole money and jewelry.

    Christopher Crane, 40, of Franklin, was sentenced to 3 years in New Jersey State Prison and restitution of $620.

    He pled guilty on January 12, 2013, to bad checks, theft by deception, both fourth degree crimes, and forgery, a third degree crime.

    May 31
    John Lawrence Gibbons, 35, of Lakehurst, was sentenced to three years department of corrections, five days on motor vehicle, concurrent to theft. Credit for 57 days served, restitution, fees and fines paid, revocation of drivers license for six months concurrent to one year suspension on theft. Gibbons pled guilty on March 6, 2013 to theft of a motor vehicle, a crime of the third degree, and to the motor vehicle offense of driving while suspended.

    June 3
    Matthew Hnyda, 19, of Franklin, was sentenced to 5 years New Jersey State Prison subject to the No Early Release Act and be on parole for three years after his release. He must also submit a DNA sample and pay $380 in fines.

    He pled guilty on March 26, 2013, to 2nd degree conspiracy to commit robbery and 2nd degree burglary.

    In November of 2011 the defendant and several juvenile and adult co-defendants conspired to break into a private residence in Hardyston with some of them carrying weapons. The victims were home during the robbery.

    Paul McSweeney, 53, of Hardyston, pled guilty to six counts of false public alarm, a third degree crime. Sentencing is presently anticipated for July 26, 2013.

    He called a dance studio, an ice cream shop, Hamburg Police and Hardyston Police and falsely reported that criminal activity was occurring.

    June 4
    Dawn Vahaly, 34, of Franklin, pled guilty to possession of a controlled dangerous substance, a third degree crime. Sentencing is presently anticipated for June 25, 2013.

    Vahaly admitted that on March 29, 2013, in the Borough of Franklin did possess a controlled dangerous substance.

    Vahaly was represented by David Nufrio and the State was represented by Assistant Prosecutor Rachelle Jones.
