Sussex to continue sharing services with Hardyston

    The Sussex Borough Council voted to continue shared services with Hardyston Township for construction office services, fire prevention, and sewer operator services.

    The sewer operator services will have a $10 reduction if tied to the Public Works Department Services, which will be lowered by $1,000.

    Sussex Borough unanimously approved the sewer operator services and tabled the Public Works contract. The public works contract was tabled unanimously until a question regarding catch basins is resolved at the next meeting.

    The construction office and fire prevention services are 4-year contracts, which passed 5-1. Councilwoman Annette Stendor voted against the two contracts.

    The Public Works and Water Sewer contracts will be for one year.

    Mayor Jonathan Rose said that the Hardyston agreements are part of the budgeting process.

    The Borough Council will aid Borough residents by linking the recordings of the council meetings on their website: sussexboro.org, next to the minutes of the appropriate date.

    Municipal Clerk/Administrator Mark Zschack said in order to provide the recordings, the borough will up load wave files into the sound cloud.

    Zschack also explained it was not easy because of the time required to upload the files. The borough will work out a procedure.
