The 200 Club presents $30,000 in scholarships
NEWTON — The 200 Club of Sussex County announced that this year approximately $30,000 in scholarships were presented to area students as part of this year's program and in concert with long-time corporate sponsors the Knight's of Columbus Marquette Lodge in Sparta; Franklin Mutual Insurance of Branchville; and Hudson Farm of Andover.
Scholarship awards went to Kristina Garrera from Wallkill Valley Regional High School, recipient of the Franklin Mutual $10,000 scholarship; Marissa Arahill of Vernon Township High School who received the Hudson Farm $5,000 award; and Katelyn Moran also of Vernon Township Regional High School received the Knights of Columbus $2,500 scholarship.
A total of $11,000 in scholarships courtesy of the 200 Club of Sussex County were awarded to Chelsea Armstrong of Kittatinny High School to attend Bloomsberg University; Steven Zappa of Kittatinny High School to attend Rutgers University; Ashley Truglio from Lenape Valley Regional High School; Mary McChesney of Pope John XXIII Regional High School; Kayla Ouellette of High Point Regional High School; and Samantha Seaman attending Pope John XXIII Regional High School. And additional scholarship will also be presented to a Sussex County Community College student.
The 200 Club of Sussex County President Allen Langjahr stated, "On behalf of out members and sponsors, we are pleased to present these scholarships to local students pursuing education in law enforcement, emergency services and related fields."
