Former Vernon Township School Superintendent Tony Macerino of Barry Lakes wih his seeing eye dog "Jim."

Faster than a speeding bullet, female border collie "Spot" goes through the course at the Vernon Dog Park during the agility demonstration. According to Jim's mom Judy Hoffman, "The whole point of agility training is having fun with your dog." The reward treats are probably inspirational as well.

Dr. Mike Ramieri of the new Advanced Veterinary Care center in the Walmart Shopping Center on Route 23 in Franklin gave the girl scouts tips on caring for their pets.
VERNON — Former Vernon Township School Superintendent Tony Macerino of Barry Lakes brought his 10th seeing eye puppy training program dog “Jim” to meet the young ladies of Vernon Girl Scout Troop 94682 during Pet Information Day held at the Vernon Dog Park.
At the end of the day, the girls presented the dog park organizers with a check for $386.51 that represented the earnings from a bake sale that they held at the Walmart in Franklin.
The girls also collected cat and dog food that they will donate to the Vernon Township Animal Control Department to help with the cost of caring for the animals in Vernon.
