Vernon, Hardyston teams win track meet

HAMBURG. Sam Silva and Samantha Janus, both of Glen Meadow Middle School in Vernon, were named Male Most Valuable Player and Female MVP, respectively.

The Hardyston Township Middle School hosted the annual Sussex County Middle School Track Meet on May 21-22 at Wallkill Valley Regional High School.

Sixteen schools participated: Andover, Byram, Frankford, Franklin, Hardyston, Kittatinny, Lafayette, Montague, Newton, Northwest Christian, Ogdensburg, Pope John, Sparta, Sussex Christian, Sussex Wantage and Vernon.

Sam Silva and Samantha Janus, both of Glen Meadow Middle School in Vernon, were named Male Most Valuable Player and Female MVP, respectively.

Team trophies were awarded for first, second, third and fourth place.

Girls

1st place: Glen Meadow Middle School, Vernon

2nd place: Sparta Middle School

3rd place: Hardyston Middle School

4th place: Pope John XXIII Middle School

Boys

1st place: Hardyston Middle School

2nd place: Sparta Middle School

3rd place: Glen Meadow Middle School, Vernon

4th place: Sussex-Wantage Middle School
