VERNON — The Vernon Township Police Department held its annual Child Safety Day on Sunday in the Highland Lakes Clubhouse parking lot.
Members of area law enforcement agencies helped parents to ensure that their children’s child safety seats were properly installed and in good working order. Workers and volunteers came from the Police Departments of Vernon, Newton, and Pequannock with the assistance of the Northern New Jersey Safe Kids organization.
The Highland Lakes Fire Department and the Vernon Ambulance Squad also were on hand.
