Vernon Township High School's Student Council sponsored a door-ecorating contest in conjunction with Spirit Week activities.

The winter-themed contest involved 30 classroom doors.

Among the winning doors were a scene done in pastels reminiscent of Currier and Ives, a see-through diorama, and an Elf-Yourself spinoff of Santa Claus and his reindeer flying over New York City, featuring school administrators.

First place honors went to history teacher August Meyers’ class. Second place was awarded to Lea Haddeland’s Italian Honors class; rounding out third place was the artistry of Patricia Soriano-Bunger’s Art Major homeroom.

First, second, and third-place winners were rewarded with a bagel breakfast.
