Students in Jennifer Ryder’s Culinary Business Management class recently conducted their own “Food Truck Race” from cereal boxes and ingenuity.

The class, part of Vernon Township High School’s Career and Technical Education certificate program, challenged the students to not only make a desktop-sized replica of their dream food truck, but plan and execute a menu, keeping in mind costs and profit.

Some of the menu items they dreamed up included Fried Oreos, Teriyaki Chicken and Rice, Disco Fries, Beef Empanadas, Strawberry Shortcake, and Cinnamon Buns.

The next part of the challenge is to master the making of their products.
