Jase Van Den Broek, 18 months, of Wantage warmed up to Santa Claus and the two passed candy canes and jingle bells back and forth. Vernon resident Tom Smaldone of Vernon arranged for Santaís visit to the high school.

VERNON — The Vernon Township High School Viking Club hosted breakfast with Santa Claus on Saturday, Dec. 20.
About 150 adults turned out with a great many more children in tow. The mission of the Viking Club is to bring parents of athletes together in fundraising efforts to support the athletes by awarding scholarships, as well as funding unbudgeted expenses to benefit the athletic teams.
Last year, the Viking Club awarded 12 scholarships to graduating seniors. There were 10 $500 scholarships and two $750 scholarships awarded.
