Four Vernon Township High School choir members recently performed with the New Jersey All-State Honor Choirs.

Senior Rebecca Proctor and sophomore Mariajesus Valdes sang with the All-State Women’s Choir during the New Jersey Music Educators Association convention in February at Symphony Hall in Newark. Seniors Kyle Pitts and Sean Gillen sang with the All-State Mixed Chorus in November, with performances at the NJEA Convention in Atlantic City and at NJPAC in Newark. All four students are talented and integral members of the VTHS choir and are heavily involved in the high school performing arts department. With four participants, this year also represents the highest number of students accepted into the New Jersey All-State Choirs from Vernon in the past 10 years.
