VTHS thespians meet with one of their own

Vernon. Vernon Township High School thespians met with VTHS alum Devin Ilaw, who played Thuy in a Broadway production of Miss Saigon.

Verrnon Township High School thespians met with one of their own, alum Devin Ilaw, who played Thuy in Broadway’s production of Miss Saigon.

When he attended VTHS, he blew the audience away in their Spring musical with his masterful performance as Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. He was the keynote speaker at the recent New Jersey Thespian Festival.

Students competed in musical solo, musical duet, contrasting monologue, scene, improv, and musical dance. Rylee Smaldone received the Superior award for her contrasting monologue performance and Skye Port for her musical solo performance.

The event involved 51 schools from throughout New Jersey with over 1400 students competing.
