Weekend snow predicted

Up to a foot of snow and bitter cold temperatures are coming to the tristate area this weekend. The National Weather Service on Friday afternoon said the chance of snow is 100 percent.

Two to four inches will fall after 10 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 14. Temperatures will stay in the high teens and low 20s, with winds from the Northeast from 5 to 9 mph.

More snow, from four to eight inches in some areas, is expected Saturday night into Sunday, along with sleet and winds of 10 to 14 mph.

There is a slight chance of snow and sleet before 9 a.m. on Sunday, with stronger winds of 11 to 17 mph. Sunday will be mostly sunny, with a high near 32. Northwest wind 11 to 17 mph.
