VERNON — Under a pale blue sky, the Wallkill River National Wildlife Refuge encouraged families to explore the trails and learn about the creatures that inhabit the refuge last Sunday.
Live animals were available for close-up inspection and crafts and games were also available as were lessons about learning to protect the animals and their homes. Children were also given the opportunity to complete the Junior Refuge Manager program with wildlife experts there to help.
