Through its annual scholarship program, the Vernon Township Woman’s Club provides financial awards to seniors from area high schools.

Award recipients are selected based on their community service activities and an essay describing how a memorable volunteer experience affected their lives.

This year, the club presented six students with scholarships toward their secondary education expenses.

Grace Revoredo, a graduate of Sussex County Technical School, will attend New Jersey Institute of Technology to major in chemical engineering.

Five scholarship recipients were from Vernon Township High School:

• Julia Crafton will study jazz composition in New Orleans.

• Cara Davies will attend Duquesne University as a nursing major.

• Robert Nathan will major in early childhood education at William Paterson University.

• Luke Keating will be a chemistry education major at Kean University.

• Gabrielle Miller will attend Rutgers University as a political science major.

The club, a member of the New Jersey State Federation of Women’s Clubs, is open to women of all ages from all towns who share a commitment to volunteerism. For information, go online to www.vtwc.org or call Joan at 973-827-0804.
