Woman's Club plans pinwheels for Child Abuse prevention

Club member Barbara Fimia, pictured, along with members Elaine Hossfield and Maria Dorsey, behind the camera, placed over 50 pinwheels outside the entrance to the Vernon PAL Building to raise awareness of this important issue. Accompanied by a sign which reads "These pinwheels represent our commitment to healthy, happy childhoods for the kids in our community," pinwheel gardens like this were planted by dozens of Woman's Clubs throughout the state.
VERNON — The GFWC Vernon Township Woman's Club planted a pinwheel garden in honor of Child Abuse Prevention Month in April. Sponsored by the US Department of Health and Human Services, Child Abuse Prevention Month promotes the social and emotional well-being of children and families.
