HAMPTON — Like many others across the nation, about 200 participants gathered to protest on April 15. This local Taxpayer Tea Party was held at noon at the Hampton Mall on Route 206 just north of Newton. Congressman Scott Garrett was one of the speakers that addressed the placard-carrying crowd. Spectators said the rally started with the singing of The Star Spangled Banner followed by a prayer lead by the minister from the Lafayette Federated Church.
