Augusta — Dr. Ted Spinks, V.M.D. of the Animal Hospital of Sussex County in Augusta, was recently invited to participate as a judge in the Miss South Carolina Pageant. Spinks was asked to judge because of the number of pre-veterinarian students entered in the pageant. He was one of six judges from the eastern United States, all experts in their fields. “It was a tough decision. The ladies were all gorgeous, so we had to judge them on individual merit and talent,” said Spinks. “I asked veterinary-related questions.” Rachel Law was crowned Miss South Carolina USA 2010 after two nights of competition at the North Charleston Performing Arts Center in North Charleston, S.C.
