Warwick — Carla Corts and Lou Marquet (vice president of Leyland Alliance), are the co-chairs of Winslow’s Denim, Diamonds & Dreams Gala. Both chairs are excited that the community has once again embraced this annual event, and plans are rapidly moving forward. This year’s gala will take place on Oct. 20, at Falkirk Farm in Central Valley, N.Y., which Corts owns. The event will include a live and silent auction, fun and a chance to help make miracles and dreams come true at Winslow. The proceeds from this fundraiser, which is held every year, are used to directly benefit the riders at Winslow Therapeutic Center. Winslow is a not-for-profit Hippotherapy and Therapeutic Riding Center devoted to the special needs population. Located on 100 acres of scenic land, Winslow’s facility is a haven for horses and humans alike. Winslow is devoted to students with many different disabilities and learning challenges and has been servicing children and adults for over 30 years. Leo and Gladys Kaytes of Warwick, N.Y., will be the recipients of the Winslow Award, which recognizes their value and concern for human life. Last year’s recipient of the Winslow Award was Lou Marquet. Winslow is still seeking sponsorships, journal ads and auction items.
