Macerino to be honored at black tie gala

    VERNON — The Vernon Education Foundation will honor retiring Superintendent of Schools Anthony Macerino as its inaugural White Lights/Black Tie Annual Award recipient during its gala on Saturday, March 28 at 7 p.m. at the Crystal Springs Resort. Macerino retires this year as superintendent after a 31-year career of public service. The event honors “an individual each year that embodies the very focus of the Vernon Education Foundation, which is to foster, promote and enhance traditional and innovative approaches for excellence in the Vernon Public Schools and to encourage communitywide interest and involvement in, and support of, the Vernon Public Schools,” according to event organizers.
