Third-graders at the Franklin Borough School in Karen Crosby’s class had the opportunity to observe the metamorphosis of a monarch caterpillar. During the two-week period, the students watched as the caterpillar moved into the chrysalis stage and then emerged as a butterfly. During the observation, children’s questions were addressed through technology as they researched various Web sites. The students: from left, fourth to second rows: Alyssa VanderPloeg, Rebekah Russo, Nate Mansfield, Justin Misyak, Sam Delihasani, Jason Garfield, Peter Paszkiel, Julianna Hood, Maliah McCoy, Abby Madden, William Stickle, Sara Christie, Lucas Morris, and Kenny Brucato. First row: Sierra DeGroat and Kayleigh Houghtaling.
