FRANKLIN — People who need food stamps can get help through a program at ShopRite of Franklin held in the parking lot on Tuesday, April 28 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sussex County social services’ staff will work from the mobile office, helping people apply for food stamps and other social services for which they may be eligible. It will also provide information and referral services. The outreach vehicle is the size of a bus and is outfitted with a waiting room and three private offices so clients can be served in a confidential and professional manner. The mobile office is wheelchair accessible and is equipped with wireless Internet connection and a fax machine so applications can be processed on site. The program is jointly organized through Sussex County Social Services and the county’s Senior Services, along with the County Welfare Directors Association of New Jersey and ShopRite, plus Essex County and the New Jersey Anti-Hunger Coalition. For information about food stamps or other social services, call 973-383-3600 or 973-579-0555.
