Mountains of generosity

More than three and a half tons of clothing and used toys were collected recently by the Lafayette Township PTO. ‘These results simply underscore the generosity of the local people opening their hearts for the kids,’ said Mike Toepfer, a Lafayette Township parent. The sheer weight of their generosity caught many by surprise — as many of the parents and students who lifted, loaded and filled the first of two large trucks can attest. A backup truck was called for the remaining goods that couldn’t fit in the first.
