New hire named to head Major Crimes Unit

    Newton — Seana Pappas has been hired as an assistant prosecutor with the Sussex County Prosecutor’s Office. She has over 19 years experience as an assistant prosecutor, including over 15 years in the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office. Most recently, she was the Supervisor of the Major Crimes Unit and Narcotics Task Force for the Hunterdon County Prosecutor’s Office. Pappas is a graduate of Rutgers University and Rutgers Law School, Camden. She started her legal career with a judicial clerkship. In Sussex County, she will be assigned to the Major Crimes Unit. A press release from Sussex County Prosecutor David J. Weaver quoted him, saying that Pappas’ “experience and enthusiasm will be a great asset to the office.” He said that he is “extremely confident in her ability to lead the Major Crimes Unit.”
