Hardyston — After a brief interview, Cheryl Whitehead of Crystal Springs became the latest member of the Hardyston Township School Board on June 23. Whitehead, who works as an administrator at the law firm of Dolan & Dolan in Newton, said that her interest in the board was motivated by her daughter, who is about to enter the district as a kindergartner. “I’ve spent the last several years with my child being my main focus, and now she’s going to school,” she said. “I thought that if there was any time that I should get involved, now is the time.” Whitehead said her experience in working with people and her background in finance, as part of a degree from Rutgers, would make her a valuable asset to the board. She is taking the place vacated by Jerry Lanzalotto, the former board president, who resigned for health reasons.
