Nominate someone for Senior of the Year

Vernon — Nominations are being accepted for Vernon’s male and female Senior of the Year. Nominations must be received no later than April 20. The nominee must be a Vernon resident for at least five years and have rendered service that benefits the community and surrounding areas such as volunteering in hospitals, county, work, etc. Nominees must not be an employee of Vernon Township or a member of the Senior Board, and need not be a husband and wife team. Send recommendations to the attention of Vernon’s Recreation & Leisure Department at the Vernon Municipal Building, 21 Church Street, Box 340, Vernon NJ 07462. The winner or winners will be announced at the township’s Spring Luncheon for Seniors to be held May 14 at Crystal Springs. Vernon seniors who want to attend the luncheon can sign up at the Senior Center on April 22 between 9 a.m. and noon. There is a $5 fee to attend the luncheon. Proof of residence must be provided at time of sign up.
