To the Editor: Let me get this straight: The people of the communities voted not to spend the money on both the Wantage and Highpoint bond issues, but the board of education says, “Time out! Do over! The vote didn’t come out right so we’ll keep throwing it out there till only a few people show up and maybe we’ll get one past the residents.” Hello. We voted and said you are not capable of handling that kind of money. You have a budget and can’t even accomplish simple repairs, yet you are going to attempt to do major construction. Oops, I forgot: There are sweetheart deals to be handed out. And just in case you missed it, the state has run out of money for school projects that they have already started. But, you say, they will give you the money they promised. Sure they will ...politicians never lie. “The check is in the mail ...” And by the way, the reason there was a low turnout for the last vote was because it was “back to school night,” and it’s hard to be in two places at once. Oh, you didn’t realize it was back to school night? What was I thinking? You are only the school board! I’m just not sure how the board has the nerve to keep voting on the same thing till they get the response they want. What is the purpose of voting in the first place? Let me tell my kids how just and honorable the elected officials of our county and state are ...Maybe once someone in politics would do something the taxpayers ask them to do. Nah. What am I thinking? Hank Sharp Wantage
