After students at the Walnut Ridge school pledged a walkathon to raise money for the Vernon food pantry, Walmart took notice. Representatives from the store contacted the school to let them know they wanted to pitch in and support the children’s efforts. Last week, they presented the food pantry with $250 raised by walking 50 miles to Stomp out Hunger, and Walmart gave the children a plaque honoring them for community service. Walmart also made a $100 donation in their name to the pantry.
