Pelican gives donors free lift tickets

    MORRIS PLAINS — Pelican Ski and Snowboard Shop in Morris Plains will give blood donors an unrestricted one day lift ticket for use at area ski resorts as a thank you for their donations. “Pelican Ski and Snowboard Shops are excited to have the opportunity to aid such a wonderful cause in our community,” said manager Bruce Sanderson. “We challenge all who are eligible to donate blood and help make a difference in our local community.” Anyone who donates blood through Saturday, Jan. 31 will receive a donation letter from their blood donation center to present to the shop. The donor can then present the original letter to Pelican and receive lift ticket to use at Smugglers Notch, Gore Mountain, Greek Peak, Loon Mountain, Alpine Mountain, Hidden Valley Club, Sugar Loaf, Hunter Mountain, Mountain Creek, Bromley, Shawnee, and Jay Peak. Letters must be received by Thursday, Feb. 5. Lift tickets will be mailed within seven days. In addition to donating blood at a local blood center/hospital, the shop will host blood drives on Fridays on Jan. 9, 16 and 23 between 3 and 8 p.m. All donors will receive a complimentary $10 gift card and a free lift ticket on the day of the event only.
