Books foster imagination From left, Cathy Goldsworthy, Alexis Hibbits, Katie Peters and in back, Cassidy Jameson show off the work done by Lafayette students after reading about aliens. They were among other students from Lafayette Township school who participated in One Book, One Community. The program, now in its fifth year, brings together the Sussex County Library System and the school districts of Frankford, Lafayette, High Point and Sussex-Wantage. The program is aimed at building a stronger partnership between the school and the community at large, and by encouraging as many people as possible to read a selected book organizers hope to foster a shared love of reading and a common ground. This year’s books were the science fiction classic ‘War of the Worlds’ by H.G. Wells and a kindergarten through adult picture book, ‘The Aliens are Coming’ by Meghan McCarthy.
