Vernon — The Vernon Township Police Department conducted a theft investigation throughout the month of January, which was requested by Mountain Creek Ski Resort management. The investigation began when patrons at the ski resort paid for a ski lift ticket and there was no monetary value written on their lift ticket. Normally the price of the ticket is printed on the lift ticket. Mountain Creek advised investigators that lift tickets are scanned when patrons get onto the chairlift to make sure their lift tickets are valid. When patrons requested a refund or a credit for their day of skiing Mountain Creek Management was alerted to this activity. Audits were performed and the total loss to Mountain Creek was S2,000. Robert A. Woodruff, 19, of Highland Lakes, a former ticketing agent, was arrested and charged with theft. He was released with an April 7 court date.
