SPARTA Over 85 volunteers braved the bad weather on Sunday to set up the Holiday Toy Shop for the Holidays Around the County program run by Pass It Along. Sparta United Methodist Church provided a large room with a kitchen for the event to take place. Donated new toys and clothing were arranged so that local area families in need of assistance can provide their children with gifts for the holidays. Personal shoppers helped families locate items in the Toy Shop this week. Susan Loyas, director of annual events, said she thought they could offer 1,500 to 1,700 children four gifts each. In addition to toys, donated coats and gently used items are also available for the families to take as they need.
