In collaboration with First Book, a national non-profit organization committed to providing new books to children from low-income families, NORWESCAP Child and Family Resource Services, located in Newton, awarded over $6,000 in book grants last year. The book grants support literacy based programs for children sponsored by DASI, Sussex County Public Health Nursing, Sussex County Community College Reading Buddies, Newton Even Start, NORWESCAP Head Start and Early Head Start. Children in these programs receive books that they can keep. The book grants provide one book a month for a year for each child. Photo provided
