Do you remember as a child when you first saw something sexually explicit? For my children who are ages 8, 6, 4 and 2 years old, it was at the Warwick Drive-in last night when we went to see a PG movie. Last night we saw “Monsters vs. Aliens” (rated PG). The next screen over, in full view from where we were sitting, was a naked man with his backside exposed perched on top of a naked woman, her upper body fully exposed, they were having relations openly at a race track. The screen clearly showed the full motion of their engagement. My older two children asked us what they were doing...”Monsters vs. Aliens” now became Innocence vs. Integrity. After speaking to the owner at the end of our movie, his response was, “You hardly saw anything.” He also informed us that it is mandated by the movie industry as to what time the movies are to be shown and that we should check the schedule for the other movie’s ratings before coming next time. I am completely appalled by the drive-in’s management’s lack of adherence to moral and ethical principles and soundness of moral character. My heart aches from a layer pealing off of my children’s innocence. Kathie Austin Vernon
