Recycle electronics
Lafayette Don’t throw away all that unwanted junk mail, scrap paper and old letters. Shred them! The Sussex County MUA will host its monthly shredding service for Sussex County residents and businesses on Friday, Aug. 17. SK Shred, a mobile document destruction company, will be at the SCMUA solid waste facility in Lafayette from 9 a.m. to noon. You can shred all that unwanted paper by the boxful. The cost is $5 per box, up to 40 pounds. There is no limit to the number of boxes an individual can shred. Next up, the MUA will sponsor an Electronics Recycling (E-Waste) event on Saturday, Aug. 18, from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sussex County residents, schools, businesses and municipalities can bring limited quantities of electronic equipment on this day for free disposal. Examples of items to bring include: computer processors, monitors, printers and peripherals, televisions, VCR’s, DVD & CD players, fax machines and copiers, stereo equipment and radios, and cell phones.
