Red Cross sets blood drive, bake sale

Newton — The Red Cross will hold a bake sale and blood drive on Monday, June 8, from 12:30 to 6 p.m. The event will be held at the Sussex Chapter headquarters at 93 Spring St., in Newton. Eligible blood donors include those people at least age 17 years of age, weigh at least 110 pounds, and are in good health. When donating blood, plan to spend at least one hour for registration, donation and a short rest period after donation. Eat well within three hours prior to donating and drink plenty of fluids.
