Register for young performers workshop

    Hackettstown — The Centenary Stage Company’s Young Performers Workshop will open registration for its fall program with interviews for prospective students on Sunday, Aug. 16. A theatre training program for young people ages 8 to 18, the fall session will take place on Saturdays, from Sept. 12 to Dec. 20, and will culminate in a Marathon of Musicals performed for the public and regional school children during the final 10 days of the program. The workshop offers training in acting, voice and dance, with an emphasis on the musical theatre and the production process, for several hours each Saturday. The cost of the 15-week fall session is $350. No prior experience is required, but students must complete an interview process to be admitted. Under the auspices of Producing Director Carl Wallnau, the workshop is led by Broadway, film and television veteran Michael Blevins, and is staffed by theatre professionals from New York and the region.
