The next ACT achievement test will be administered on June 13 and students who wish to take the college admission and placement exam must register by May 8. The June test date is popular with high school juniors. Many of them take the ACT at the end of 11th grade, knowing they can re-take it the following year. Late registration deadline is available May 9 to 22. for an extra fee. Students may register online at www.actstudent.org or pick up registration forms from high school counseling offices. The cost is $31 for the traditional ACT test and $46 for the ACT plus writing. Students should determine whether colleges and universities they are considering require the optional writing score. A list of schools that require the writing test can be found at www.actstudent.org/writing. ACT scores are accepted by all four-year colleges and universities nationwide. The ACT Web site, www.actstudent.org, has information, free sample tests and inexpensive test prep materials.
