Hamburg Jagger, a Labrador retriever, from The Seeing Eye in Morristown, recently visited Hamburg School with Sue and Brian Filak. Sue Filak talked to the students about the important work that dogs like Jagger do to assist those who are visually impaired or blind. Jagger, who is a year-and-a-half old, was accompanied by Timber, a four-month-old chocolate lab who is currently being trained by Sue Filak. Timber goes everywhere with her, including to work at the Durban Avenue School in Hopatcong ever day. Timber will spend the next year with the Filak family before going back to The Seeing Eye, where he will finish his training and then be assigned to assist someone in need for years to come.
