Self-portrait makes it to state show

Franklin — Artwork by fourth-grader Ryan Oleksy was selected to be displayed in the Art Educators of New Jersey’s county exhibit in the Newton Courthouse. Six pieces from each county are then selected from this exhibit to be included in the State Exhibit. Ryan’s self-portrait was hung in Trenton for the Art Educators of New Jersey’s 2009 Youth Art Month State Exhibit. A reception and an award ceremony was held in the Trenton State House on March 20 to honor all the students, art teachers, families, guest artists and legislators who support art education.
