Soccer moms dispute' Not
While I was pleased to finally see local coverage of the Darlene K. Kleeschulte arrest and conviction on harassment charges, I was disappointed at the way your paper minimized the incident. This was not a “Soccer mom” dispute. This case involved abuse of privilege, threats of harm to a mother and her children, attacks on character and attempts to implicate others who had no knowledge of Mrs. Kleeschulte’s actions. Mrs. Kleeschulte used her position on the Rolling Hills SCA to obtain access to faculty mailboxes for the purpose of delivering her threats. Even more appalling is the fact she now serves as the treasurer for the Lounsberry Hollow SCA board. Mrs. Kleeschulte has been banned from all Vernon Youth Soccer events for one year and her husband has been removed from his position on the soccer board. I would hope her access to children and staff at Lounsberry Hollow will be, at the very least, closely monitored if not severely limited. Her “letter” of apology to the victim consisted of no more than two sentences in which she “apologized” for “...any inconvenience” she may have caused the victim. A blatant understatement at best.
