Sparta man arrested twice in one day

    On March 11, Newton Police were called to Weis Market for a report of an adult male shoplifter. The investigation led to the arrest of Donald Grau, Jr., 21, of Tamarack Road, Sparta. He was charged with shoplifting for allegedly stealing assorted dental and cosmetic products valued at approximately $75. Grau was released on his own recognizance. Later, Newton Police were summoned to the Newton Shop-Rite Supermarket for a report of an adult male shoplifter. Grau was again identified as the actor for allegedly stealing approximately $105 worth of hair care and beauty products. All items were recovered and returned. Grau was released on his own recognizance pending court.
