Cannavale playing for Drew field hockey team

    Bea Cannavale (High Point High School) is on the roster as a sophomore midfielder/defender for the Drew University (Madison, New Jersey) women’s field hockey program this fall.

    Through the first five games of the season, Cannavale had two goals and two assists.

    Through Sept. 14, the Rangers had an overall record of 5-0. On Saturday, Drew has a home Landmark Conference game scheduled versus Catholic University.

    Grace Bailey (Vernon High School) is a freshman goalkeeper/forward for the College of Saint Elizabeth (Morristown, NJ) women’s soccer team. Bailey started one game through Sept. 19 and tallied 13 saves.

    Saint Elizabeth has a home game versus Wesley on Oct. 2.

    Joe Drossel (High Point High School) is a junior defensive back for the Kean University (Union) football program this year. Kean started the season 0-2. They have a road game at the State University of New York Cortland on Oct. 5.

    As a member of the Centenary College (Hackettstown) women’s volleyball squad, Chelsea Hoffman from Vernon High School played the first 10 matches of the regular season and posted 16 kills and had nine service aces during that span. Hoffman is listed as a senior outside hitter.

    Megan Kelly from Vernon High School is a junior on the roster of the Georgian Court University (Lakewood, NJ) women’s cross country team this season.

    Kelly placed ninth overall and second for her team at the Wilmington University Cross Country Invitational in Delaware. Georgian Court finished in second place in the team scoring at the Wilmington Invitational. Kelly is listed as an English major.

    Abigail Lenz (Vernon High School) is a senior listed as a Criminal Justice major for the Caldwell College (Caldwell, NJ) women’s cross country team this season. Lenz finished in 11th overall for Caldwell in a 29-30 season-opening dual-meet loss to Bloomfield College.

    Caldwell is scheduled to compete in the Belmont Classic at Belmont Plateau in Philadelphia, Pa., on Oct. 5.

    Michaela Mackin from High Point High School is listed as a freshman defender for the Fairleigh Dickinson University (Florham, NJ campus) field hockey team this season. After six games, Fairleigh Dickinson had an overall record of 3-3.

    On Oct. 1, the Devils have a road game at Kean University.
