Forino, Dehnert named athletes of the week

VERNON — The Vernon Township High School Athletic departmnet has named senior Bryan Forino of the boys' cross-country team and Julia Dehnert of the volleyball team athletes of the week.
Forino pushed the boys team to a 3-0 start to the season, beating North Warren and Hackettstown with a time of 16:35 placing second overall.
Coach Shenise states, “Bryan has led both boys and girl’s teams on and off the field with his dedicated hard work and sportsmanship. His work ethic is superb putting endless miles all summer long to prepare for a winning season."
Dehnert has helped lead the team to an overall record of 5-1. This is the best start the team has had under Coach Sorensen’s tenure. This past week she compiled 53 kills, 29 digs, 2 aces and 2 assists.
Sorensen said Dehnert's work ethic and attitude are second to none. She leads by example and is the core reason for the team’s early success.
