There is no better way to spend Memorial Day than with America’s pastime.
Join the Sussex County Miners on Monday, May 30, for a special celebration of our nation’s heroes featuring the best baseball action around, plus postgame fireworks.
At 5:50 p.m., a veteran will throw out the first pitch, and the stadium will hold a moment of silence to remember all those who have fought and died for our country. The Miners will take on the defending Can-Am League champion Trois-Rivières Aigles at 6:05 p.m.
Gates to the ballpark open at 5 p.m., but you can come early and enjoy a full day at the ballpark by grabbing lunch at wheelHouse Kitchen + Bar, the All-American pub-style restaurant right next to the main gate at the All-New Skylands Stadium. Doors to wheelhouse Kitchen and Bar open at 4 p.m.
Have an All-American afternoon with your family and savor American pub-style fare. For those fans 21 and older, wash your meal down with a wide variety of delicious beers fresh from the tap, including some of New Jersey’s finest local brews, and signature mixed drinks from wheelHouse’s friendly bartenders.
Have kids? Give them a day they will never forget in The Backyard Place, the brand new kids play area at the All-New Skylands Stadium. While you enjoy the ballgame, your kids can have a blast in the bounce house, play carnival games, have a game of volleyball or hunt for gems and crystals at the interactive mining tower. The new Miners Express trackless train will also be available for rides around the grounds. After the game, get ready to be amazed by the Miners’ famous post-game fireworks show.
“Watch our huge, colorful Memorial Day fireworks show, accompanied by patriotic tunes, as the Miners honor our great country’s heroes. Miners baseball at the All-New Skylands Stadium is truly a Memorial Day celebration for the whole family,” said Dave Chase, general manager of the Sussex County Miners.
The stadium concession will be serving traditional Memorial Day fare, such as hamburgers, hotdogs and pulled pork, as well as soft drinks and a variety of beers.
