Mountain Creek to host Snow Bowl

VERNON — Mountain Creek Resort will host the ultimate “Big Game” extravaganza with “Snow Bowl 2014” Feb. 1–2 to celebrate the Super Bowl, which will be held only 33 miles from the resort. There will be complimentary skiing or snowboarding, an on-snow tailgate party, a pep rally with The Nerds and a $10,000 Mountain Creek field goal kick competition.

Snow Bowl 2014 will start with Mountain Creek’s favorite cover band, The Nerds Pep Rally Concert on Saturday, Feb. 1 at 8 p.m. at the Red Tail Lodge.

On Feb. 2, the festivities will officially kick off with an on-snow tailgating party from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., featuring six Championship Grill Teams, food & beverage specials, games for all ages, prizes, merchandise, plus special offers from Mountain Creek and Sports Authority, the official Snow Bowl sponsor.

Skiing or snowboarding will be free from 3 p.m. until 9 p.m. for anyone dressed up as a football player, cheerleader, football official, or Super Fan.

Between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., fans are welcome to enter the Mountain Creek Field Goal Kick Competition. The winner will take home $10,000. Different divisions, determined by age and gender, and 10 finalists will be chosen to compete in the big kick at 2 p.m.

At 6:30 p.m. fans get to watch the Big Game slope side at the Base Lodge with flat screens and drink specials.
